CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

Dr. Bourke is the CEO and Founder of the Research and Recognition Project. After the 9-11 attacks in 2001, Dr. Bourke designed and implemented a rehabilitation plan for 800 World Trade Center building survivors. He found that he was able to change the symptoms of PTS survivors he was treating with an new protocol much quicker and more effectively than the 30 or so therapists he was working with. He founded the Non-Profit Corporation to bring the research up to a scientific standard necessary for more widespread implementation. He was trained at the Institute of Psychiatry in London on Fulbright funds and lectured at Cornell University and brings with him more than 33 years of professional experience in Executive, Clinical and Research roles.

Melanie Mclaughlin

Melanie Mclaughlin

Melanie McLaughlin is a seasoned media executive and nonprofit leader with decades of experience in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and mission-driven initiatives. She serves as President of Montel Media and Montel Williams Enterprises, overseeing business development and operations.

McLaughlin brings deep nonprofit governance experience as co-founder and President of the Montel Williams MS Foundation (2000–2009), where she helped raise and distribute more than $1 million in research funding. She also served for several years as a board member of MS Run the US and has collaborated with numerous nonprofit organizations on advocacy, fundraising, and public awareness campaigns.

Her professional background includes executive producing The Montel Williams Show and managing all aspects of Montel Williams’ career for more than 35 years, providing her with extensive expertise in financial oversight, communications, stakeholder engagement, and brand stewardship.

McLaughlin studied at Colorado State University and completed Harvard Business School’s Core Leadership Program.

Jon Adams

Jon Adams

Jonathan Adams served in the U. S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and then continued a 30-year military career with the NYANG flying the ski-equipped LC130 performing polar airlift in Greenland and Antarctica. He has held numerous unit positions, including appointment as the Wing Commander of the 109th Airlift Wing, and later, Commanding General of the NY Guard Air Division. He retired as a Brigadier General with over 7,000 hours in a variety of transport aircraft. He also enjoyed a 26-year airline career with US Airways flying the F28, B737, and holding several flight operations management positions. Brig. Gen. Adams retired from active flying with over 20,000 hours. He worked three years in Embry Riddle’s Commercial Airline Pilot Training program and then four years for CAE Civil Training as the Manager – Training and Standards, CAE Global Academy. Brig. Gen. Adams currently serves as Chief Operations Officer at Strategic Global Aviation at Griffiss IAP, Rome, NY.

Dr. Schmidt, in addition to joining the Board of Directors is currently the Acting COO to help with organization and funding acquisition for the RandR Project. In his clinical practice he has used the early version of the RTM Protocol™ for over 30 years with hundreds of clients and taught it to others globally. He has also served as an organizational consultant to Fortune 500 companies for Leadership Development, Strategy Alignment and Culture improvement.

Rosalyn Anstine Templeton, Ph.D

Rosalyn Anstine Templeton, Ph.D., is an author and educational consultant with twenty-nine years of teaching students and teachers how to turn anger into productive behavior. She has studied under Dr. Nicholas J. Long, a world-renowned expert in crisis intervention and anger, and earned a graduate degree in social and emotional disorders from the American University. While a public-school teacher, Dr. Anstine Templeton taught students how to handle their anger effectively by developing plans for success. As a faculty member, she has developed specialized degree and training programs while teaching at Willamette, Bradley, Ferris State, and Marshall Universities.

Dr. Anstine Templeton has presented teacher and parent workshops on anger throughout the US to increase success for kids at risk of failure. She has conducted research, published its results, and presented numerous papers at national and international conferences with the desire to show educators and parents better ways to create stress-free and anger-free learning environments in school and at home. She is an emeritus member of the American Education Research Association.

Dr. Anstine Templeton holds membership on the Board of Directors for the Research and Recognition Project because of her passion for furthering research to successfully treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and its related issues like anger. Additionally, she serves on the Board of the Post Traumatic Training Institute. She has earned the Life Space Crisis Intervention advanced certification and has been a senior trainer for the LSCI Institute. Dr. Anstine Templeton coauthored How to Talk So Kids Can Learn at Home and School with New York Times best-selling and award-winning authors Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. She has published four books on anger and is currently working on a book titled Avoiding Anger When Hurting: Help for Little Kids.
