What clients have to say:
What therapists have to say:
My experience with RTM has been an absolutely life changing experience. Before I went
in for my first session of RTM treatment, I had been through over 2 years of therapy and was
as clinically diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and the hardest of all, post traumatic stress
disorder. I had a very good therapist and was making amazing progress but it just wasn’t
enough, I was still dealing with the emotional and mental weight that the trauma had been
putting on me.
It got to the point where I just wanted something, anything, to help me finally be free. The next
day someone recommended that I fill out an application for this program. I kinda freaked out
when they called the next day and asked if I could meet them for my first appointment in a few
hours, but I got over myself and decided to do it. After just the first appointment it felt like I was
finally making real progress. After only the second appointment of RTM treatment it felt like all
the weight had been lifted off of me. All that fear that I had built up inside me from many many
years of trauma, suddenly gone. It felt like I could finally live my life as, me. I wasn’t that girl
who was trapped in a world of fear anymore. I am now the happiest I have been since I was a
11 no as a little kid, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
I am practicing therapist from Albuquerque New Mexico specializing in treating individuals
with co-occurring disorders and trauma.
Over the past ten years the trauma treatment field has advanced significantly bringing forward
new therapies for treating PTSD. These new therapies, such as EMDR, Brainspotting, and
Mindfulness-based Emotional Processing, have brought relief from and/or desensitization to
traumatic memories for many suffering with PTSD. However, they can often take a long time
to deliver successfully and require the client to be emotionally uncomfortable, if not
intolerably so, despite the trained clinician’s best efforts to make the client comfortable.
Recently I became trained in Reconsolidating Traumatic Memories (RTM), a new technique
in trauma work that is grounded in a growing body of research. I am currently treating
thirteen clients with RTM and am finding that most clients are able to go from being highly
distressed about a memory to zero in just three sessions. This is a remarkable development in
the field. Moreover, the RTM protocol does not require the client to experience the full
emotional experience of the traumatic memory.
I am finding this trauma protocol is nothing short of a remarkable breakthrough for the field.

Four friends have told me “I am more clear looking.” I’m not as angry. And, I am more focused with Toastmasters and school because my mind is not rattling on with other stuff.”
Client 3013 7/30/15.
I am more low key about things and getting more relaxed and mellow. The event we worked with is like a distant memory if I take time to remember it …which I don’t. I feel like a man who was walking through a desert and came upon a waterfall and felt clean after coming out on the other side. Doing this treatment got me out of a rut!
Client 3015 7/29/15.
I have less concern and less consideration of the events we worked on. When my wife asked me what we had been working on in the study I told her for the first time what happened overseas….and I’ve been married 28 years.
Client 3009 7/30/15.
I feel better and the therapy really helped. I’m less tense and sleeping better with no nightmares. I now have the ability to talk about things I’ve never talked about.
Client 3018 8/11/15.
I was shocked at how quickly the RTM Protocol neutralized events that had been weighing me down since I returned from Iraq. I was having frequent flashbacks and nightmares. No more flashbacks and nightmares. I’m sleeping better. At work I am able to focus better and accomplish tasks. I’m no longer afraid to go places. I put myself out there and am more talkative and social.
Client 3027 8/21/15.
I am sleeping better and less fatigued. I have more energy. My kids see I am more actively engaged with them. I spend more time with them and have more energy for them.
Client 3030 8/21/15.
I used to keep everyone shut out. I am more social now, even in school. I feel freer and no longer have paranoid feelings about an impending explosion. My wife and kids see I am not stuck anymore and withdrawn. I feel freer and more involved in life.
Client 3019 8/25/15.
I notice a difference in myself. I was sitting around depressed and apathetic and angry about events in Iraq. Instead of having terrible flashbacks, I now think of the event as just a memory. I feel more enjoyment of life and am starting my own business. I have started a golf program…something I would have never done prior to the treatment.
Client 3014 8/24/15.
My PTS symptoms have decreased to mild according to my VA Counselor. I feel good and I don’t have any guilt or remorse anymore. I feel like I can proceed without any baggage.
Client 3012 8/25/15.
People are saying I am doing well and seeming more happy. I am not as drawn to news about conflict. I am more focused on living and feeling less stuck and trapped.
Client 3020 8/19/15.
My wife notices I am more calm and more participation in family events. The hair on my arms does not raise anymore. I no longer anticipate something going wrong or fearing a reaction.
Client 3007 9/8/15.
After completing the RTM treatments I am not nearly as angry. I am no longer going off by myself and smoking and drinking. I am more willing to invest emotionally in my wife and our marriage. My flashbacks and obsessive behavior have stopped.
Client 3022 8/21/15.
I am much more relaxed. My eye and facial tic is reduced and hands more relaxed. I have more detail of an event and then it is easily dismissed as no longer important…just a fact of history. The major thing is a lack of nightmares.
Client 3016 9/5/15.
I don’t have uncontrollable anger. I am much happier even though life is stressful now. Even with my estranged wife I am able to stay calm and deal with the facts.
Client 3032 9/21/15.
I used to sit in the dark all day and go over and over the trauma. After treatment with the RTM Protocol, my wife says I am a lot happier. Another friend I have known for six years and see every Sunday says I look and sound so much happier. I feel more alive. No more daymares and nightmares…and the nightmare I have had for the past 40 years has stopped.
Client 3021 9/15/15.
Everybody…my wife, kids, instructors at school, even parents who I talk to on the phone when I talk to on the phone. I am a happier person and feel like I can move forward in my relationships and business.
Client 3036 9/22/15.
Before the treatment, I just did not care about myself or my life. It was as if there was nothing to look forward to. After treatment, I feel calmer, more relaxed and laid back person and not as nervous and tense around the house. I wake up with a “zest for life.” Before I would hesitate to do things and socialize. Now I have no discomfort in grocery stores or crowded places and like talking to people. Now I know where I want to go and what I want to do. I am focused on to move in a continued positive direction. I am happy and excited about renewing friendships and am getting back with my tournament fishing partner who I called after our third treatment and had not spoken to in 20 years.
Client 3038 9/20/15.
I have been stressed due to an upcoming heart operation. Usually this would trigger my military-related nightmares and now they do not. In terms of flashbacks I am good now and don’t have any.
Client 3024 9/15/15.
After three treatments I feel different. I have stopped carrying around the duffel bag of misery. I no longer have a recurring nightmare I have been having for the past 30 years. I feel more positive and feel like my future is in my hands in which ever direction I take. I’ve noticed if I put out good vibes and self-confidence, it is reciprocated. I’m not going to sit still and feel depressed anymore. I just got a new job and I attribute this to the work I did with the RTM Protocol.
Client 3035 9/8/15.
Doing the Protocol was a big “Wow” for me. I was unable to sleep, walk down hallways without thinking someone would shoot me or enjoy playing with my daughter without feeling guilty. Now I am able to laugh and joke like I used to before deployment. I’m sleeping well throughout the night and my wife no longer has to walk on eggshells. I even went to a San Diego Chargers game recently and felt comfortable ….something I could have never done prior to the RTM treatments.
Hi, my name is Kim. I’ve been a coach and NLP practitioner since 2010 and more recently began practising psychotherapy, based in London in the UK. I work with businesses, local authorities and privately, with young people, families and adults who have a varied range of social, behavioural and mental health issues.
I became a certified RTM Clinician on the 25th June 2020. RTM is a protocol which removes the symptoms of PTSD and other traumas in three sessions or less. It’s a non-invasive approach, which doesn’t require the client to relive the trauma leaving them able to talk about the traumatic events after the session, without feeling the emotions they previously felt.
Clients have said that after the protocol they no longer suffer from flashbacks, nightmares, have significantly improved sleep, concentration, optimism about their future, going to public places, including being involved in social and recreational activities.
Before I became qualified in the RTM Protocol, I would have worked over several often many sessions, which were often very emotional for the client, sessions would be over weeks, or even months, to help them with trauma; Now I am able to help them much more effectively, quickly and comfortably.
My referrals are increasing due to the positive feedback, and I feel confident and positive about being able to help so many more people, effectively and successfully in the future. I really recommend that you look into and then complete the RTM Protocol qualification. Seeing the clients often amazed faces and hearing their positive comments is truly amazing, the protocol has truly changed the way I work with trauma clients.

Hello, my name is Denise Stroud. I have been in practice as a Gestalt Therapist for over 10 years. Based in Leicestershire UK, I work with clients with a broad range of issues.
In 2020, I became aware of the RTM Protocol. RTM is a protocol which removes the symptoms of PTSD and other traumas in three sessions or less, without asking the client to re-live the trauma. In fact, part of the protocol is to actively stop them from re-living the trauma until it is cleared. I became a Certified RTM Practitioner in 2021.
Since I started using RTM, I have become increasingly confident working with trauma clients. The ability to help clients much more effectively, speedily and comfortably than before has been a very rewarding experience. I have witnessed clients’ lives being transformed as they are freed from burdens that have been affecting them, sometimes for decades. One client described her experience of RTM as follows:
“I have tried lots of different therapies, but when it comes to coping with experiences that affected almost every aspect of my life, RTM protocol therapy has been a success beyond expectation. Instead of attempting to treat symptoms, my therapist treated the cause – a traumatic event. My therapy was entirely online, yet I felt very supported, very safe. I am very grateful for this therapy and feel like a functioning human again!”
I really recommend you look into becoming a Certified RTM Practitioner. It has changed the way I work with my trauma clients forever.

This letter is to extend my support for the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM)
protocol for PTSD.
I am a Clinical Psychologist and the director of the Brain Resource Center in NY. I am also an affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons as an instructor in the department of Psychiatry. I have over 10 years of experience with assessment and treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and have been involve with helping with the RTM protocol for PTSD research project based in New York State.
I have personally observed and assessed the efficacy of the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) protocol for treating PTSD. This protocol was administered to Iraq War veterans at my center where we conducted pre-post treatment evaluations to assess the efficacy of the protocol. I have been very impressed to witness the cessation of PTSD symptoms in significantly less time than current treatments using this protocol. Therefore, I am extending my full support.

This letter letter is to demonstrate my personal and professional support for the Reconsolidation
of Traumatic Memories (RTM) protocol for PTSD.
I am a Chartered Occupational psychologist who practices out of the UK. I am also responsible
for the assessment as well as supervision of psychologists who wish to obtain the doctoral level
qualification of Chartered Psychologist through the British Psychological Society Qualification
in Occupational Psychology (Stage 2) and also to register with the Health Professions Council as
a Practicing Psychologist.
Within occupational settings many employees may experience trauma to the extent they develop
symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Using my own clinical judgement and also
the valuable use of psychometrics (DAPS 2001) over the last 15 years I have identified clients as
suffering from PTSD and used the RTM protocol with great positive effect on those who have
witnessed murder, suffered threats of death, experienced road traffic accidents, and those who
have been exposed to death to name a few. I have found the RTM to be very effective as well in
cases of clients who have experienced multiple traumas.
I personally have found the RTM protocol most useful too over the last 15 years when working
with executive burnout as assessed by the Maslach Burnout Inventory (Maslach C 1996)
I have been practicing as a psychologist in the UK since 1995 when I was made first aware of the
precepts and technical aspects of the RTM protocol and trained in them. Since that time I have
also heard of many successes anecdotally from others who have used it.
I, personally and professionally hold no reservations concerning the efficacy of the RTM
protocol in treating PTSD and extend my full support to the further research, and experimental
exploration so we more fully can develop our understanding of how such a protocol can
effectively produce such positive cognitive and behavioural effects.
